Dear Mr Dimas,

There are many in Greece who see your efforts about the environment positively, even in those cases when fines are imposed on your own country, as is the case with the Open Uncontrolled Rubbish Disposal Areas.

I belong to those people.

So I am with you in this case and in many others.

However, there is too much noise about GMOs, mostly because a number of organizations found an easy way to promote their activity simply by causing artificial fear to the people… In the past this was the method religions used to spread…

Mr Dimas, there is not a single scientific evidence against GMOs. Absolutely NONE. There is however a lot of hysteria from propagandists and all sorts of promoters who are hiding behind the GMO campaigns, their ulterior motives…

Besides, as it is the case with medicine, when ever there is evidence of harmful results to human health, the product is withdrawn and possibly substituted by a new safer one.

This was the only way used for years or rather centuries by mankind to improve his standard of living… A continues spiral of trials and errors to greater efficiency.

Biotechnology uses its existing knowledge to make our life better and safer, although in the road to achieve this there have been some grave mistakes or even second thoughts about controlling the producer…

In that sense Mr Dimas there should be rules and regulations introduced within the EEC, allowing small biotechnology centres to survive as well. Thus there wouldn’t be all in the basket of the five food giants producing CMOs. Thus there would be a better more antagonistic market for GMOs

If we surpass the problem of controlling the farming communities by a handful of GMO companies there is nothing against the GMOs.

The African kids are dying in thousands Mr Dimas lacking food locally produced and you are promoting activities causing their death… YES YOU DO THAT Mr DIMAS

YOU ARE PROMOTING ACTIVITIES CAUSING THE DEAT OF AFRICAN KIDS because some people with ulterior motives told you about some unproved dangers from GMO use!!!

If you were really interested in milder methods of producing better seeds for drought tolerant stable yielding plants Mr Dimas, you would have noticed that a Greek company; the SPIROU House of Agriculture, http://www.spirou.gr/ is currently striving, with considerable successes, to produce seeds for drought tolerant plants in Syria, Egypt and Iran.

In conclusion Mr Dimas, do not become the long hand of scurplus propagandists with ulterior motives…

Do not become an AFRICAN KIDS KILLER…

Mr Spirou is doing a far better and more humane job for our society by disregarding idiotic restrictions and helping countries like Syria and Iran to feed their peoples…

Sincerely
